Dear Prospective Students,
My name is Courtney McDonald, President of the Rhode Island School of Medical Massage, and I’m honored to welcome you to the beginning of a journey that has the power to change your life. Not long ago, I was standing where many of you may be now—underemployed, financially stretched, and uncertain about what the future held. I knew I wanted more: more stability, more purpose, and more control over my life. Everything shifted when I enrolled in massage school and discovered the world of manual therapy. Within three years of graduating, I built a thriving practice and achieved a milestone I once thought was out of reach—purchasing my own home. That experience became the foundation for creating the Rhode Island School of Medical Massage.
This school exists because I believe education can be a turning point at any stage of life. Whether you’re a parent seeking flexibility, an adult learner returning to school, or someone ready for a meaningful career change, our mission is to empower you with the skills, confidence, and knowledge to build financial independence and professional fulfillment through massage therapy.
